 Redi Tlhabi is a South African TV and radio host, MC, novelist, and columnist (born May 5, 1978); she is a Brand Ambassador for Clarins, a French cosmetics firm. Redi earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg. 

The University of Johannesburg awarded Redi an honors degree in Social Sciences and English Literature. In 2008, she earned a Master’s degree in African Literature. Redi is an associate of the Rand Athletics Club and has completed the Comrades Marathon three times.

The seemingly successful career began at the Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg, where she studied Communications and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to study Social Sciences and English Literature later in life. Her master’s degree in African Literature was awarded to her in 2008. 

These academic credentials are an excellent match for her current job titles. Her career started with Network Radio News, and she then moved to Kaya FM, a Gauteng-based radio station. She was the editor of the Kaya FM bulletin at the time. In the afternoons, she also hosted a drive show. 

Redi worked for the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as a television reporter. Later in her career, she worked as a current affairs anchor and producer. ‘Interface,’ ‘Today in Africa,’ and ‘News Hour’ were among the many programs she produced at SABC.

She earned the post of Eyewitness News journalist at Talk Radio 702 in 2005, which was a watershed moment in her career. Then she got an evening talk program named ‘Talk at 9’ later that year. She had the opportunity to work for SABC 3 as a presenter in 2006.

Initially, she used to host a talk show called Rights and Recourse, which discussed constitutional rights. Between 2006 and 2008, she presented this show. She got the incredible chance to cover the G8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, in 2007.  
After that, she got a job with e.tv’s Primetime news bulletin in 2008 and collaborated with Jeremy Maggs as a co-anchor here. However, she left the position later that year, claiming she couldn’t handle the hectic pace. 

She was the mastermind behind the acclaimed documentary about former South African President Thabo Mbeki. On weekdays, she hosts The Redi Direko Show on Talk Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk.
